As we reflect on the remarkable journey of Safco Support Foundation (SSF), we are filled with profound gratitude and optimism. Guided by our enduring vision of “Towards Resilient and Sustainable Communities: Lighting the Way Forward”, SSF continues to build on the strong foundations laid since the late 1980s with SAFWCO, the formal establishment of SSF in 2009, and our steady evolution into an integrated, high-impact development organization.
At the heart of everything we do is an unwavering commitment to empowering vulnerable communities across rural Sindh. We embrace modern tools for greater accountability, forge green partnerships aligned with the global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and strategically address poverty through innovative social mobilization, women’s empowerment, enterprise development, and resilient infrastructure. With a dedicated team of over 250 professionals, we uphold our core values of fairness, inclusion, justice, participation, transparency, and ethical standards fostering a truly collaborative, community-centric culture that delivers lasting change.
Through our multifaceted initiatives, we are rebuilding lives and strengthening communities. Projects such as the Sindh Solar Energy Project (SSEP) have brought clean solar energy to thousands of off-grid households; the Sindh People’s Housing for Flood Affectees (SPHF) has delivered multi-hazard resilient homes, roofs, and plantations benefiting over 144,000 individuals; our mason training programs have equipped more than 2,500 artisans with skills for sustainable construction; and our interest-free loan (IFL) program has empowered over 4,000 entrepreneurs 70% of them women with the capital needed to boost incomes and livelihoods. By fostering community ownership through Village Reconstruction Committees (VRCs), targeting the most vulnerable BISP families, maintaining transparent processes, and integrating environmental sustainability, these initiatives illuminate homes, rebuild disaster-resilient shelters, create economic opportunities, and strengthen resilience against climate vulnerabilities and poverty.
This integrated approach exemplifies how SSF is lighting the way forward transforming vulnerability into strength, promoting environmental stewardship, and building communities that can thrive amid challenges. Our work in land entitlements, model villages, and skills development continues to touch hundreds of thousands of lives, enhancing livelihoods, promoting inclusion, and nurturing hope for a better tomorrow.
Looking ahead, as we navigate the realities of climate change and socio-economic shifts, SSF remains fully committed to our vision of a society where everyone flourishes together. Through expanded training centers, stronger partnerships, and innovative programs in women’s entrepreneurship, WASH, health, and education, we will keep empowering individuals with the tools they need for self-reliance and sustainable progress.

At Safco Support Foundation (SSF), we have given a new direction to our longstanding commitment to serving humanity. We have moved beyond providing immediate assistance in times of difficulty and embarked on a journey toward bringing sustainable, lasting change to the lives of marginalised and underserved communities across rural Sindh. This journey embraces education, health, financial inclusion, livelihoods, housing, and environmental responsibility the essential pillars of true and inclusive development.
Today, as Chief Executive Officer, I wish to convey this message once again from the depths of my heart: Our true strength lies in our people in their courage, their dreams, and their unwavering struggle.
My deepest desire is that our communities rise beyond a state of need and reach the level of empowerment and self-confidence. They should not only be able to make their own decisions but also possess the ability to move forward in step with an ever-changing world. This is the kind of transformation that forms the foundation of genuine and lasting development.
Through model villages, training centres, and modern livelihood opportunities, we are nurturing a form of development that does not depend on external support, but stands firmly on the capacity, strength, and ownership of the community itself. Development that is not imposed from above, but rises from within from the heart of the community.
The path is not easy; the challenges are many. Yet our determination remains stronger than ever. The dedication of our team, the trust of our partners, and the courage of the communities we serve continue to guide us toward a future where our goal is not merely recovery, but true empowerment.
